APSCA Part III Exam – Multiple Attempts Policy
1. Scope
This policy outlines the expectations and requirements for Auditors who have not
successfully passed the APSCA Part III Exam after multiple attempts. It is designed to
support continued auditor development and enhance auditor success through their
structured and targeted learning.
2. Effective Date and Scope
This policy takes effect on April 1, 2024, and applies to all Auditors who have attempted
the Part III Exam three times or more as of that date or thereafter.
3. Policy Requirements
To support auditor development and continued progress toward certification, this
policy identifies two scenarios based on the number of unsuccessful exam attempts:
•
Scenario 1: After three to five attempts
Auditors in this situation are required to observe a 30-day waiting period and
complete additional training to address areas of improvement identified in prior
exams. Training evidence must be submitted and approved prior to scheduling a Part
III exam.
•
Scenario 2: After six or more attempts
Auditors in this situation must observe a 30-day waiting period and complete an audit
log with a minimum of 20 audit days to reinforce practical knowledge. Documentation
must be submitted and approved prior to scheduling a Part III exam.
